La fiesta vacia

Una ciudad en estado de euforia, fuegos de artificio que dibujan blancas constelaciones, muros parlantes, una explosión interminable que deslumbra en el diálogo entre la poesía de Begoña Ugalde y las fotografías de Gema Polanco. Esta urbe que seduce, sin embargo, no atrapa por completo a la mujer que como eléctrica serpiente, la recorre y sana. Su ojo agudo se fija en los seres, registra los detalles, aprende a leer los mensajes que escriben los aviones en el cielo y se mira en las imágenes y espejos que, al sesgo, le develan zonas ríspidas y deterioros del ambiente. Su oído fino ha aprendido a descifrar las hablas del follaje, y ella misma, restándose al vértigo de la "fiesta vacía", espera en el silencio de la noche la palabra que brota desde un núcleo interno que pareciera contener la energía del universo en su "primer estallido". Ella es hoy una mujer madura, que enseña a sus hijos a descubrir en las materias inertes las leyes del mundo y que domina las artes del conjuro. Ella conoce los rituales y es precisa en la enunciación de sus deseos: quiere frutas frescas, gestos limpios, el roce amoroso de los cuerpos y la lucidez para enunciar con voz profética el crimen de la guerra. Pero, además, ella en su trayectoria no está sola. La acompañan sirenas marinas que "se peinan con los dedos" y amparan a otros seres prohibidos de nacimiento", junto a quienes vaticina un tiempo de goce y abundancia por el que vale la pena asumir todos los riesgos.

This city that seduces, however, does not completely trap the woman who, like an electric snake, runs through it and heals. Her fine ear has learned to decipher the speech of the foliage, and she herself, subtracting from the vertigo of the "empty party", waits in the silence of the night for the word that springs from an internal core that seems to contain the energy of the universe in its "first burst." Today she is a mature woman, who teaches her children to discover the laws of the world in inert materials and who masters the arts of conjuring. She knows the rituals and is precise in the enunciation of her desires: she wants fresh fruits, clean gestures, the loving touch of bodies and the lucidity to enunciate the crime of war with a prophetic voice. But, furthermore, she is not alone in her journey. She is accompanied by sea mermaids who "comb their hair with their fingers" and protect other beings forbidden by birth", along with whom she predicts a time of enjoyment and abundance for which it is worth taking all the risks.
